  25. Wrong message. In general USR modems are fine, and the Sportster is
  26. very cost effective. *However*, even if 95% of the Sportster owners
  27. are happy, if 99% of the people with problems are unhappy with USR
  28. *support*, you see a lot of complaints here.

  30. My reading is that only a few of us are unhappy with the modems,
  31. but all of us are unhappy with the support. I will never buy or
  32. recommend a Sportster again, but I do use a small number of
  33. Couriers when they are the best solution. For low price modems I'm
  34. still looking, and I have Zoom and Cardinal units in place.
